McConnell: "We have the votes"

Late yesterday afternoon, news broke that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) will NOT broker an impeachment trial deal with Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY). McConnell told reporters, "We have the votes, once the impeachment trial has begun, to pass a resolution essentially the same, very similar to the 100-to-nothing vote in the [1999] Clinton trial."

National Public Radio reports:"The decision to move ahead with the rules puts new pressure on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., to release the House-passed articles of impeachment so that a trial may begin. ... Democrats had hoped to persuade some moderate Republicans, like Sens. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Mitt Romney, R-Utah, to push for a bipartisan process."

But that process is taking so long that even Senate Democrats have begun calling for Pelosi to send the two articles of impeachment to the Upper Chamber. According to The Washington Post, the far-left Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) said yesterday, "I think the time has past." The newspaper also tweeted moderate Sen. Joe Manchin's (D-WV) call for action: "I think it needs to start. I really do."

When the trial does finally begin, President Trump is going to need the support of every Republican and moderate Democrat in the Senate. You can call on them to stand strong against impeachment using Grassfire's "GOP Wafflers" FaxFire. Click here or on the banner below now to fax your Representative, your Senators, 16 potential GOP "wafflers" and three key Senate Democrats (up to 22 faxes in all) for just $15

McConnell might "have the votes" he needs, but nothing is guaranteed. That's why grassroots patriots MUST make their voices heard against the Democrats' impeachment Witch Hunt! Thanks in advance for taking action.

For liberty and limited government,

The Grassfire Team

P.S. For insight into the important role the three RINOs mentioned above (Murkowski, Collins and Romney) could play in the impeachment process, please see yesterday's email below.
