This morning, The Hill published a report about Senators "to watch" in the expected impeachment trial of President Trump. Three Democrat Senators mentioned in the article caught Grassfire's attention. Sens. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), Doug Jones (D-AR) and Joe Manchin (D-WV) could break from their party and vote AGAINST impeachment.
- The Hill quotes Sinema as saying it's her "constitutional duty to approach (a Senate trial) with no bias... to listen to the arguments presented by both sides."
- Jones, who The Hill calls is "the most vulnerable Senate incumbent on the ballot next year," has indicated he might vote to acquit the President if "dots aren't connected" in an impeachment trial.
- Manchin reportedly is still undecided, but The Hill points out that he "votes with Trump more than any other Democratic senator currently in office."
